Uncover Tokoname’s Charm: Fish, Feast, and Local Culture

boat fishing

Fishing. It is a traditional Japanese culture that only those who know Japan well would know about.

If you come to Japan, why not try a traditional Japanese experience rather than just visiting tourist spots?
In fact, fishing is one of Japan's traditional outdoor pastimes. The experience of fishing in the beautiful ocean is a special pleasure known only to those in the know.
The fishing experience with ALL RAID departs from Kariya Port in Tokoname, Aichi. Access tips for the cover photo spot: from Meitetsu Uege Station it’s about 12 min by car, and from the Chita Peninsula Road “Taketoyo IC” it’s about 10 min by car. Park and walk right to the pier—simple and smooth!

Regional Characteristics

Tokoname, one of Japan’s Six Ancient Kilns, is a pottery town famed for the “Maneki-neko Street.” Along the walkway, countless lucky-cat statues greet visitors, led by the 3.8-meter icon “Tokonyan.” Stroll the Pottery Footpath past old kilns, clay pipes, and quaint slopes, then pair culture with coastal fishing for a rich day trip.

Access

In Aichi Prefecture, we recommend a fishing experience with ALL RAID.
By car it’s about 10 minutes from the Chita Peninsula Road “Taketoyo IC.” Public transport is limited, but a taxi from Meitetsu Uege Station takes roughly 12 minutes—easy even with gear.

Features

To keep every angler relaxed and happy, the captain’s motto is: “Beginners, first-timers, and women can all enjoy this comfortably.” Since opening, they’ve offered truly hands-free trips—just show up and have fun. The captain’s kindness shines through, and charter trips are available so friends can share the day together (shared rides also welcome). If you’re unsure about anything, the captain and crew teach patiently—perfect for women and families with children.

Beginners need not worry.

If you’re wondering, “I’ve never fished—will it be okay?”, rest easy. ALL RAID offers ample rentals—rods, reels, and more—so you can join hands-free. With a roomy deck and clean restroom on board, even those new to fishing can enjoy the day in comfort.

Let's start fishing!

The captain of JACK is totally dedicated to satisfying his customers!
The boat goes out to various areas, but the most popular trip is the “Gomoku Tsuri” trip, where you can catch a variety of fish in the nearby sea!
The fish you can catch vary depending on the season, and include sea bream, blue fish, cutlass fish, leatherfish, horse mackerel, mackerel, rockfish, and black porgy! All of them are fun to catch and a shame to eat!

After fishing, head to one of our partner restaurants!

After fishing with ALL RAID, drive about 15 minutes from Kariya Port to the partner eatery “Ajidokoro Teppou” in Taketoyo. A proper chef will prep your catch on request—ultra-fresh sashimi and classic dishes await. Please contact the restaurant in advance when busy. If you feel shy about contacting them, I’ll gladly arrange it for you!

Fresh fish dishes and delicious sake

The freshness of the fish means that it doesn't have that fishy smell, and the fresh, shiny flesh is mouth-watering.
The sight of the fresh fish being cut up by the chef's knife and transformed into sashimi, which combines the best of both worlds, is a wonderful work of art that you can enjoy with your eyes!

The sushi chef in Japan will cut up the fish you've caught and serve it to you!
Is there any greater luxury than being able to fully enjoy and experience Japan? As far as I know, there isn't.
If you consult with the manager in advance, it should be possible to have them make sushi for you!
By all means, please enjoy Japanese culture and sushi to your heart's content!

Finally

Fishing is not just about catching fish - you can also enjoy the refreshing feeling of being in nature and the sense of fulfillment that comes from obtaining your own ingredients. Then, while reminiscing about the day's experience and enjoying a conversation with your family or friends who went fishing with you, you can enjoy eating the delicious, freshly-cooked fish. This is a luxurious experience that can only be enjoyed in Japan!
Why not make the day you and your family or friends spend at Rinku Port Kita in Tajiri-cho, Sennan-gun, Osaka Prefecture, a special one by adding a fishing experience at JACK?
