Sakai blends a living port town with deep history. A must-see is Nintoku-tennō-ryō Kofun (Daisen Kofun), one of the world’s largest keyhole-shaped tombs and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Its vast 486-meter scale speaks to ancient Japan’s culture. Nearby, Daisen Park and museums make an easy half-day before or after fishing, letting you enjoy both Osaka Bay and Japan’s early history in one trip.

After your trip, head about 25 minutes by car from Old Sakai Port to Umai-mono-ya Azuma in Konohana-ku (about 4 minutes on foot from Hanshin “Chidoribashi” Station). Professional chefs will prepare your catch as sashimi, tempura, sushi, and more—an indulgent, truly Japanese way to finish the day.
By public transport, it’s roughly ~40 minutes from “Sakai” Station via Namba to “Chidoribashi” Station, then a short walk.

Fresh fish dishes and delicious sake
The freshness of the fish means that it doesn't have that fishy smell, and the fresh, shiny flesh is mouth-watering.
The sight of the fresh fish being cut up by the chef's knife and transformed into sashimi, which combines the best of both worlds, is a wonderful work of art that you can enjoy with your eyes!
The sushi chef in Japan will cut up the fish you've caught and serve it to you!
Is there any greater luxury than being able to fully enjoy and experience Japan? As far as I know, there isn't.
