The directions for the travel itinerary introduced on this site are as follows!
“Golden Route 1” Plan (From Atami to Inari Station)
You can access Inari Station smoothly from Atami by train. The route using the Shinkansen is convenient.
1. How to travel mainly by Shinkansen (fastest and most comfortable)
Travel time: approx. 3 to 3.5 hours
Fare: approx. 13,000 to 14,000 yen (approx. 87 to 93 dollars)
Route
1. Atami Station → Tokyo Station (Tokaido Shinkansen) [approx. 35 minutes
2. Tokyo Station → Kyoto Station (Tokaido Shinkansen) [approx. 2 hours 20 minutes
3. Kyoto Station → Inari Station (JR Nara Line) [approx. 5 minutes
The Shinkansen is the quickest way to get to Fushimi Inari Taisha.
There are two train changes, but both Tokyo Station and Kyoto Station are easy to understand and the journey is comfortable.
However, as Shinkansen reserved seats get crowded during busy periods, we recommend making a reservation in advance.

Accommodation
Tomorrow we’ll be spending the whole day exploring Kyoto, so today we’ll be taking it easy and going to bed early, as we’re also tired from the journey from Atami!
Japan is a very safe country, so if you check in early, I recommend taking a little walk around Kyoto at night! By the way, the Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine I introduced is a rare shrine in Japan where you can visit even at night!
At night, the torii are lit up, and they have a different charm to them in the daytime, so if you have the time, please be sure to visit!
Features of visiting at night
• There are fewer people than during the day, so you can visit in peace and quiet
• The illuminated thousand torii gates are fantastic and beautiful
• You can enjoy the night view from the “Yotsutsuji” on the mountainside
Points to note when visiting at night
• It’s dark underfoot, so it’s a good idea to take a torch with you
• There are wild boars in the mountains, so be careful
• There are few toilets at night, so it’s best to go before you visit
Recommended Hotels near Fushimi Inari Taisha
There are many attractive hotels near Fushimi Inari Taisha. There is a wide range of hotels, from high-end hotels that cost over 50,000 yen (over $300) per person per night to more reasonably priced hotels that cost less than 10,000 yen (less than $65) per person per night.
Depending on your values, if you want to enjoy the Japanese experience to the full, then a high-end hotel is the way to go, but if you want to focus on sightseeing and experiencing things, then a mid-range hotel will be enough! If you’re traveling with family, a couple or friends, then we recommend a mid-range hotel!
