Fishing: a traditional Japanese culture known only to Japan experts

If you come to Japan, why not try experiencing a traditional Japanese activity rather than just visiting tourist attractions?
In fact, fishing is one of Japan’s traditional outdoor activities. The experience of fishing in beautiful seas is a special pleasure known only to Japan experts.
A fishing experience at the well-known “M’s 2”, located about 10 minutes by car from Tadaoka Station in Tadaoka-cho, Senboku-gun, Osaka Prefecture, is a special day where you can catch your own fresh fish and then enjoy it at the restaurant!

Regional Characteristics

Osaka Prefecture is a city in Japan that is well known by many people, and is on a par with Tokyo. There are many tourist attractions in the prefecture, and all of them are attractive, but here we will introduce Universal Studios Japan (USJ), a world-class theme park that is representative of Osaka and which is visited by many foreign tourists and can be enjoyed by families!
At USJ, there are many exciting attractions featuring Hollywood blockbusters and popular characters!
We especially recommend the “Wizarding World of Harry Potter”. The excitement of seeing Hogwarts Castle up close and the experience of tasting Butterbeer in Hogsmeade Village is something that movie fans will not want to miss.
Furthermore, the “Super Nintendo World” area, which opened in 2021, is an area where the world of Mario has become a reality! The attraction, where you get in a kart and race against rivals while collecting items, is sure to get kids and adults alike hooked!
In addition, the park has multilingual guidance for foreign tourists, with a full range of English and Chinese guides. The friendly staff are also one of the attractions, providing solid support when you need it!

Access

In Osaka Prefecture, we would like to recommend the fishing experience at M’s 2.
The access is very convenient, and it is only a 10-minute drive (by taxi) from Tadaoka Station on the Nankai Railway, which is about 30 minutes by train from the center of Osaka. You can also easily reach the fishing boat by train. It is easy to get there by train, so it is also perfect as a little adventure in between trips.

Features

In order to ensure that anglers can enjoy themselves in peace, the captain says, “Of course the catch is important, but since we first opened, we have always valued the fact that people say ‘that was fun! It makes us happy to see that smile!
We operate as a charter service so that you can enjoy yourself with your friends without any worries. Of course we also offer shared boat trips, but we think that chartering a boat is a better way to share the fun with your friends. The captain and staff are very kind and will explain everything to you in great detail, so you can relax and enjoy yourself even if you are a woman or have children with you.

Beginners need not worry.

If you’re worried about whether you’ll be able to enjoy fishing even if you’ve never done it before, don’t worry. At M’s 2, there is a full range of fishing rods, reels and other equipment available for rental, so even beginners can join in with ease, and with the spacious deck and clean toilets, even those who are not used to fishing can enjoy themselves in peace.

Let’s start fishing!

The captain of M’s 2 is totally dedicated to satisfying his customers!
The boat goes out to various areas, but the most popular trip is the “Gomoku Tsuri” trip, where you can catch a variety of fish in the nearby sea!
The fish you can catch include bigfin reef squid, yellowtail, Spanish mackerel, and flatfish, all of which are fun to catch and a shame to eat!
The fact that you can aim for a variety of fish is very attractive!

After fishing, head to one of our partner restaurants!

After you’ve finished fishing at M’s 2, take the train for about 30 minutes and head to Yawaragi, which is located in the heart of Osaka!
The restaurant is run by a chef who is particularly skilled at preparing fish dishes, and it is also famous for the long queues that form outside the restaurant from 5am. The dashi-maki (rolled omelette) made with the restaurant’s carefully prepared dashi stock is particularly popular, so if you’re interested, why not try queuing up in the morning!
It’s amazing that there are people queuing up at 5am for this restaurant…

Fresh fish dishes and delicious sake

The fish is so fresh that it doesn’t smell fishy, and its fresh, shiny flesh whets the appetite.
The way the fresh fish is transformed into sashimi with the best flavor by the chef’s knife skills is a wonderful work of art that you can enjoy just looking at it!

The owner of this restaurant has two faces: he is the captain of a pleasure fishing boat by day and the manager of a seafood izakaya by night. He is very particular about the way he prepares his fish, so he has put a lot of effort into the cooking methods he uses!
The fish he catches in the surrounding waters is stewed in a secret recipe that combines the tenderness of the fish with a sweet and spicy flavor.
If you come to Japan, you must try it!

Finally,

Fishing is not just about catching fish, but also about the sense of refreshment you get from being in nature and the satisfaction of getting your own food. Then, you can enjoy the delicious, freshly cooked fish while reminiscing about the day’s experience and having a lively conversation with your family and friends. This is a luxurious experience that you can only enjoy in Japan!
Why not make your day out in Tadaoka-cho, Senboku-gun, Osaka Prefecture, special by adding a fishing experience at M’s 2?
